A couple of weeks ago, I returned to my homeland, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to create the wedding hair for my dear friend Erin Castle. The moment she announced her engagement to her now-husband, Jon, I knew I had to be the one coiffing her on that day. Erin, like my younger self, has a slight addiction to cutting her own hair in the bathroom mirror, so in the past six month’s we’ve had A LOT to grow out, though I am very proud to say there isn’t one piece of extension in that hair. We’ve gone from wanting fingerwaves, to 50’s bombshell hair, to this, a wonderful rockabilly-style quiff/french roll hybrid that allows Erin’s striking features (those brows!) to take center stage and, with the delicate flowers fashioned to the back, shows off their love of the simplicity of nature. These GORGEOUS photos were taken by Ashley Rieck of Imani Photography, and if you’re planning a Sioux Falls wedding, I highly recommend her. Haircolor is, of course, by me. Erin is now addicted to being Super Red, so I look forward to taking her through that journey.
